"Working at this company for 6 years, and most of employees are really nice, and love my team and upper managers. However, there are still lots of things company can do to improve (decision making, resourcing allocation, better compensation/ benefits to keep the talent people, take the advantage of feedbacks from base level of employees and deal with some unprofessional employees). That will help the employees to be proud of company reputation."
"Lack of communication and very limited ability to conduct new business."
"I've worked in Supermicro for over two years. The Boss always says that we are a family and we need to help each other, but sadly I never feel it that way. There are a lot of conflicts between team and team. People are wasting time repeating the same work just to compete with other team. In addition, I did not get a clear picture of the future of the company or even myself. I don't recommend working here if you have choices."
"I've worked for Supermicro for 7 years now, compensation is very poor they overwork you and say they see you work but will never pay you for your actual worth. They is no opportunities for growth unless you are a sweet talker to the managers, this is the one and only way of moving up and getting better compensation. The only good thing about this company is the benefits and that will be all. This company is still great for people start off as a full-time job."
"Unorganized company, very manual process"
"People are nice in the company, but you often need to work overtime to communicate with coworkers in the Asia branch. Since it is a server company, you get to learn lots of new technologies. The pay is below average."
"This company is not like any other Silicon Valley companies. Here is what you need to know if you are thinking about joining it: 1. No remote connectivity. No VPN and you are not allowed to work from home even if you can and need to occasionally. 2. You must stay from 9 AM to around 8 PM every single day if you want to be seen as "hard working" employee. Just sit there. 3. No work life balance. If you have to go for a doctor's appointment or some other chore, you must take vacation time and report back after the appointment. 4. Taking vacation is not appreciated. 5. Politics and lack of resources to get the job done. 6. Lack of documentation and processes. 7. Salary/benefits is below average."
"I've worked for Supermicro for 1.5 years. It's a company with very poor culture. The CEO required everyone stay late every day even if you did not have much work on hand at the moment. The efficiency and morale there is also low. Every one stayed late just want to please their supervisor that they cared enough to put on a show. But I met a lot of good colleagues there and we cooperate very well with each other on study and work. It's still a good experience to hone your will."
"Nice co-worker but the upper management team needs to improve their mind set."
"It's a great company to work with if you are bilingual: Chinese and English"
