I sometimes did not have the authority to make changes which would have allowed me to fulfill a request, and there was sometimes a lack of clarity as to who held the necessary authority, which made it difficult to satisfy the customer in a timely manner."

"I like having the ability to prioritize as I see fit, and the degree of autonomy I have to make decisions on how to approach tasks."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Aim high. If you can get into the company in your ideal position, do it. If not, you can take a lesser position, but it will take years to get to a decent place, and you might burn out before you ever get there."
What don't you like about working at UnitedHealth Group?
"Although I'm not overly micromanaged in my position, many positions there are. The whole company is an orgy of micromanagement and senseless data mining without regard for the context or methodology that produced the information."

"Somehow find a way to make the company less of a mess, and improve communication between all the disparate cells of the business."

"Know you job and do it well, be prepared to work as a team and understand that there may be times that you will work in hazardous conditions."

"The company leadership was all about the money and the employees began to feel it in a negative way fast."

"Focus more on the mission and the quality of the instructors and less on the amount of money that can be saved by hiring more less qualified employees."
