"Have a ton of money in the bank for marketing."

What don't you like about working at State Farm Insurance?

"The company wanted me to spend a ton of money each month on marketing with no guarantee of getting a contract. As one of the top producers, it was always never good enough. The way the company evaluated me was very vague, with a lot of grey areas."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Set expectations, provide positive feedback, and spend more time with new agents to get to know them better and understand their business they are trying to build."

"State Farm placed you through a rigorous, intense training; however, once you returned to the field, they provided very little guidance."

"Provide a short period of immersive-type training once agents return from claim school."

"Give it your all. The company as a whole is good. Hopefully, you will luck out and end up with a good agent."

"The office I was in was not one of the best that they have. The agent was not open to much and pushed customers too much. I was not comfortable with her customer service tactics."

"Give the customers what they need and make sure they are happy. Also, make sure your employees are happy."

"I did not like working with the employees. This was a small office and the agent and the other two girls grew up together. I always felt like I did not belong and I could not do anything right or at least be part of their circle. This is not necessarily the rule for all insurance agent offices but it was what I felt while working for this particular small office in a small town."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My suggestions and recommendations would be that the office keep their word about pay increases and possible advancements. I was told once I received my insurance license, I would get a pay increase, and it never happened. The agent in charge was very nice, but it was obviously a small town operation where I never belonged."
