"The company wanted me to spend a ton of money each month on marketing with no guarantee of getting a contract. As one of the top producers, it was always never good enough. The way the company evaluated me was very vague, with a lot of grey areas."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Set expectations, provide positive feedback, and spend more time with new agents to get to know them better and understand their business they are trying to build."

"I liked working with people, helping them figure out what they need, and being able to explain the breakdown of insurance so people know what is covered and what isn't."

"Ask exactly what is expected of you. Make sure expectations are realistic."

"The owner asked too much of me. I just got my license and the owner wanted me to sell all lines of business and expected too much, way too fast."

"Slow down! Give people a chance. No one person is going to make you a huge agency in six months."
