"Working for a private agency certainly has its pros and cons. Pros - close relationship with boss (agent), free lunch twice a week, close-knit group of employees, ability to connect with large book of business to upset and pivot. Gained extensive knowledge of insurance industry from this position. Refined cold calling and sales skills. Cons - poor management and organization of small business, left to learn and train oneself on State Farm systems with no guidance from agent. Studied for and passed licensing exams with no guidance or assistance. Poor communication skills amongst teams. lacking leadership."
