"Starbucks is a difficult company when it comes to pay. I think they believe they can pay less because they offer their partners so many benefits. However, being newly graduated, $9.87 doesn't keep me afloat very much. I just wish as a company, Starbucks would look at your background and apply any raises or bonuses based on that."

"The pay at Starbucks as a Barista begins as minimum wage, but there are many perks which make the job worthwhile. There are stock incentives, the company pays for their partners to further their education as far as a bachelor’s degree, and there are yearly raises. As a Barista Trainer, each time one gets to train a new hire, there is a $50 bonus along with the opportunity to teach and help develop another individual."

"The pay is nice, but the benefits are really where Starbucks does well. They provide health insurance, as well as college help through ASU. The salary alone, while nice, usually isn't the reason people stay."

"Toward the end of my Starbucks life, my manager refused to give me any more raises. He claimed I was not doing my job as I was supposed to. Customers had nothing but nice things to say to me and negative things to say about him."

"WAY underpaid, and overworked. There are too many expectations that have unrealistic time frames. But when the customer comes first how are we supposed to get done what the company wants us to get done"
-$8K (30%) less than average Starbucks salary ($30K)
"A barista at Starbucks starting wage is from $10-$15 an hour. But the hourly wages isn't what makes Starbucks a great company to work for. They also offer Healthcare benefits for both part-time and full-time workers, along with 401(k) matching, and discounted stock options for company shares. Starbucks also offers full tuition reimbursement through Arizona State University’s online degree program."

"The salary is reflected of the market that I work in. Working in the San Francisco area managers are paid a bit more to compensate for the cost of living. Bonuses do help a lot to reach this number but bonuses are not guaranteed. I’ve been a retail operations manager for 7 years and and I started at $49k and worked my way up to my current salary. Managers can make a lot more depending if their stores comp significantly over the previous year."
