"I've worked at Star2Star, a VOIP service provider, since 2016. As a described "hired gun", chartered to turn the Western US sales organization around. Took the team from "worst to first" in three years as the Top Performing Region in 2019 growing over 50%+. (6) out of (8) of my Regional Account team were the top performers in the company. Only Area to exceed 100% of plan in the last 5 years. Results matter. :)"

"The management are the chosen ones and the rest are viewed as garbage."

What do you like about working at Star2Star Communications?

"Coffee was free. I think it is some sort of psychological experiment. Sociopaths...Egomaniacs...Borderlines... Histrionic males (seems rare)...working there was probably similar to that of a mental hospital for acute personality disorders."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Read up on bipolar egomaniacs. This will help you when the CEO comes to interview you. Smile and nod. He will try to make you feel stupid. He will try to break you. Then, if you are lucky, you will never have to deal with him again. He won't even say goodbye when you leave the company and he certainly isn't man enough to fire you."

What don't you like about working at Star2Star Communications?

"Management stinks. Pay is below. They have a marketing scheme to get you in there like it is something REALLY SPECIAL...but it isn't. They will go under."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop hiring and firing so much. Pay your employees their market value. Don't play games with each other."

"pay is low for most jobs.Theres a lot of nepotism and old boy network."

What do you like about working at Star2Star Communications?

"There are still a lot of nice people that the Gestapo haven't scared off yet."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Take the job for experience if you need to. They will give you a basic networking test that includes Linux commands as well as TCP/IP. If the hiring manager has already made up his mind no, you will not get enough time to complete the test. BTW, they are watching you on camera while you take the test to see if you cheat or use phone. You don't really need to be a Linux guru but that is the environment. A lot of them are freeware geeks and hate Windows despite the fact that Linux is just as crappy. You will be expected to be on call at least once in a while- no on call pay except if you get a call. Don't expect to make much money- no raise unless you get a promotion. They think that by offering stock options they can attract real talent but if you do the math you'll find that they will never have enough business to make everyone wealthy. They think they are some kind of Google or something- NOT!"

What don't you like about working at Star2Star Communications?

"Management has an overall negative attitude which stems from not being capable of handling/resolving higher level issues because of promoting the wrong, ineffective people in technical/development areas. They also refuse to delegate escalation work to the proper people. The result is many of the same issues floating around with nothing being done."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop trying to blame your employees for your own inability to properly train and manage."

What do you like about working at Star2Star Communications?

"The people I deal with on a day to day basis are great if there on the phone or in person"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Try to be as honest and truthful and humble as you can be. Showing off, and stroking your own ego will not get you a job here."

What don't you like about working at Star2Star Communications?

"That I have to leave the fish bowl to get a cup of coffee ( fishbowl is our network operations center)"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"That TSG should get what ever they want as were the most important department in the company."
