Stanford Hotels Employee

"A good example of potential and failure. Only if the Bayfront property had good leadership. We struggle everyday under bad leadership. No one knows why but a property with potential has sunk into failure. No one cares about hotel the employees or guests. The general manager has a history of mistreating women and loyal workers. He is only working for himself. When will you make change. 10 years of destruction."

"Great news for the Bayfront hotel. HR manager gets transferred to San Diego. Sad news for San Diego. I feel sad for the San Diego property and its employees. The Bayfront GM stills remains so nothing good is going to happen to this property. Maybe someday the sun will decide to shine on us and this GM will be gone and our property will see better days."

"The Bayfront SFO property is beautiful but is not managed by good people. Sad part is even management is turning a blind eye. Letting a bad GM manage hotel does no good to employee, guest, owner, and management company. Hotel is also suffering due to bad HR. Sad story of a great property. Good example of how important it is to have good GM. I hope someone saves this property."

"The SFO GM fools the management in believing that everything is good but in reality he has done nothing but weaken the hotel by hiring the worst managers around him. A lot of them just eat and sleep on the job. Collect their paycheck and go home. Good people have either left or were let go. Only a real effort from the ownership to get rid of the GM will help this property. The culture the GM has created is terrible. People in sales, food and beverage have literally stopped working. No one wants to work, and if someone is told to do their job the GM gets upset."

"It's a joke. The GM at the SFO property backs up every individual that does not work, and people that work are penalized. HR department is also a joke. HR assistant is currently having affair with a restaurant staff and chef but no one says anything. Instead the GM holds long term staff responsible because they have given 30 years of their life to the organization. Hotel morale is low. Team morale is low because of bad leadership."

"The GM does not pay attention to sexual harassment claims. Complaints about harassment go unaddressed. People suffer on a daily basis but it is not brought to anyone's attention. Racism is also an issue and that's because the GM himself is a part of it. It's sad that the management company does not pay attention to such devious property managers. Sad story of a beautiful property. Hotel is literally running on auto pilot. The HR department is a joke. The assistant has illicit relationships with the staff and the dept manager ignores this. Please investigate."

"The Burlingame hotel is very good. Very good location. The hotel has great view of bay. Great property but very sad what is happening. In past property has very good management but current manager is no good. He is just concerned about his paycheck. No one is responsible for this place. Hiring manager hires all the wrong people and hire has to pay the price. Someone should look into this and help property. Employees now run the hotel. It is matter of time before everything crumbles."

"Burlingame Hilton a beautiful property but the management is very poor. Very poor leadership of the GM. No direction from him. He hires people with no knowledge so that they will not question him. His attitude is very bad towards staff and management. All good people have left and we are left with no talent."

"The Bayfront Hilton is just a sad place because you have to be the hotel manager's friend to be hired. If you work hard and do well then you will not be recognized. If you are talentless and don't know anything then you will be hired for top positions. This place is a disaster for the last 6 years. Sad that the management does nothing to address the problem."

"The Hilton Bayfront SFO is a cool property. The manager is great. Everything seems to be on autopilot. No one has a clue what's going on. Manager is only interested in his paycheck. The staff runs the hotel. It is very beautiful..."

"The Peninsula Hilton is a great place to work. Manager is very easy and does not bother anyone. He collects his paycheck and goes home and everyone else can enjoy life. Manager is good because he does not manage staff but the other way around. He hires people with no skills and fires you if you have any skills. It is a great place."

"This a great place to work. No one is held responsible for anything and you can do what you like. The management is scared that if they do anything then employees will give them a bad score. Manager behaves like line staff and line staff has become management. I love it."

"The SFO Hilton is a great property. It a Bayfront property with nice view from windows on the bay. Unfortunately employees in the sales and catering department are not held accountable and do anything that they want. The hotel manager runs the hotel like he is the front line staff and the staff is the GM. He is worried that if he holds staff accountable that he will get a bad score so he gives them the freedom to run the hotel and he collects his paycheck."

"I have worked at many hotels but this hotel is just terribly managed by a 2-faced manager who only cares about himself. He has done nothing but bring shame on us women and staff in general. Until the management does something, nothing good will come out of this. It is just a sad story of a good property."
