Get To Know The Team:
Associate Directors...
1.6I worked for SS&C briefly for the position of Senior Web Developer. The first red flag I should have seen was frankly the position was open for a year and a half or more before I interviewed for it and it is still open today. It is a terrible place to work sliding deadlines and obnoxious director who has a personality where he yells at people publicly one day and the next day he is all smiles. I was let go while he was on vacation while not receiving any performance complaints or concerns.
2.8I would balance the workload better amongst employees as well as commuting with the employees what needs to be done and by when in a reasonable manner. I would also make sure employees are not working too much after hours, if it all, but would be sure to show my gratitude for their effort and compensate them sufficiently.
3.2SS&C's record of growth by acquisition has benefited their bottom line but not their employees. There are some strong performers but they are typically drowned out by the clashes of disparate cultures and the company's inability to hire or maintain top talent. Short term thinking and a sales first mindset has hindered the companies ability to deliver the best products or services, and all too often customers are signed due to sales' proficiency or too cheap a price rather than a good fit and ability to meet the prospects demands. Some business lines perform very well though and take care of their employees and prop up the rest of the organization. The company's biggest successes appear to be those that are most hands off and allow acquisitions to stay the course.
