"It provide me an opportunity to lead a team of consumer and commercial loan officers toward achieving higher department results. This included loan growth, business development, community involvement, increased loan originations, implementing SBA loan products and increased processing efficiency."

"1) Be prepared for a much slower pace;2) Implementing new products, such as, SBA Programs will take a large amount of time to develop and promote"

What don't you like about working at Southland Credit Union?

"The credit union industry is not fully interested in agressively pursuing small business loan products, particularly government (SBA) loan programs."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The Board of Directors and Senior Management must become more educated on commercial loan programs if they wish to succeed in becoming a full service financial institution."
