"I've worked for Southern Company for seven months as a Consultant - Project Cost Analyst. I've found the company is a leading energy company serving 9 million customers through our subsidiaries. They provide clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy through electric operating companies in three states, natural gas distribution companies in four states, a competitive generation company serving wholesale customers across America, a leading distributed energy infrastructure company, a fiber optics network and telecommunications services. Southern Company brands are known for excellent customer service, high reliability and affordable prices below the national average. For more than a century, They have been building the future of energy and developing the full portfolio of energy resources, including carbon-free nuclear, advanced carbon capture technologies, natural gas, renewables, energy efficiency and storage technology."

"I worked for SNC for two years and found the people to be the path to success. Without a happy team the work products suffer. SNC works hard to make sure their people are happy at the office and encourages a lot of collaboration."

"Work load is high and depending on supervisor you may or may not have a home life. SoCo is trying to embrace a new culture that will create a better work/life balance. Promotions can happen quickly because turnover happens frequently. Great salaries, benefits and job security."

"I joined Southern Company initially as an intern during my final semester of college. I was hired on full time in June 2013 as a Technical Consultant for the Business Intelligence and Integration Services team. The atmosphere is very Southern atmosphere, meaning everyone is very polite to each other. My main gripe is that as a very young professional in the work force, it gets stale when no one else is around my age bracket. That and the company politics are what I am not pleased with."
