Southern California Gas Employee

"In working as a contractor at Southern California Gas Company I found a wide range of of people being open to new or better process and technologies. Their motto is "Safety First" and they strive to live up to it. However, as with many large corporations there are some people who are entrenched in their jobs and do not want any changes, and may push back so that they can stay in their 'islands" and not work efficiently with others. But, there are also people who strive to work and communicate with other for the benefit of all. Management is not consistent in applying their goals for efficiency and communication, and for holding people accountable."

Business Administration Intern

"I worked for Southern California Gas Company as a summer intern in the Utility Accounting department and the experience was amazing as much as it was productive and allowed me to learn much about the industry and inner business workings. I was in the downtown Los Angeles office and it is a short walk from many restaurants to explore during break. The people are very friendly and willing to help and the diversity in religion, ethnicity etc is overwhelming. There is room to interact with many of the other departments as well as meetings to gain knowledge on different aspects of the company. There are many events that brings everyone together after work in order to even further stimulate connectivity between other office branches as well. The company values your time and is understanding of your needs for work life balance while keeping you accountable so that you are productive and working towards a goal that you and the rest of the team have set."
