Maintenance Mechanic
in Selma, NC

"You asked for this. I wasn't looking for this opportunity to vent my frustration."

What do you like about working at SONA BLW Precision Forge?

"There's plenty of work in the maintenance department to keep the crews busy. Many improvements are needed for the machinery and the facility and, although money is tight right now, we don't get too many arguments when making some of the smaller improvements."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be honest. If you can't do the job, don't take it. If you don't want to work, go someplace else. If you expect a clean work environment, this is not the place for you.Make the best deal that you can, but protect yourself: get any agreements made during the interview IN WRITING."

What don't you like about working at SONA BLW Precision Forge?

"Lack of supervision. No one is held accountable for their actions, or lack of them. Compliance to OSHA mandates barely meet the minimum requirements. In some instances, they are totally ignored. Safety is entirely up to the individual. Most workers show a little common sense in that area."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"In the middle of this depression, I can't make any plausible suggestions. Like most manufacturers, Sona is fighting for survival."
