"Avionic Industry is cyclic. They hire you for good pay until the aircraft is designed and well into test flight. Then they lay off 5,000 to 10,000. Also, when you work there it is easy to feel like you are lost among the masses."

"Know all there is to about RTCA-DO-178B guidelines for writing avionic Software."

"There is little new innovation. All work is done by simple formula."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"1) Advertise the job for what it is, 2) Don't hire SW engineers, then assign them everything other than software."
