"I have worked for SMART Tech for a little over a year. During the hiring process my boss sold me a great company to work for but once I started I realized it is a crazy and unstable company to work for. The CEO is very rude, and the VPs micromanage to the point they make you feel like an idiot and because of that we as managers kind of have to do the same to our employees. They hire people that are let go just a couple of months after they are hired. The products are super expensive vs the competition and they launched SMART kapp which is their hope but they can't even manufacture it, just ask a channel partner and you can verify. The CEO gave us the option to work late during the night and weekends or to look for a job somewhere else. He also wants daily stand ups (reports) from every single person in the company; talk about micromanaging. I know you can be still willing to try to work here but if you do, don't quit your job, just ask for vacation so you can come and try. Even the VPs of People Services and Marketing were fired just months after starting at SMART. This is just sad and I am very disappointed. I fell in this trap and the best I can do for professionals is to share my experience. Oh by the way; CEO wants to move the company to London or Seattle so he has a plan to let go everybody from Canada, in about a year or so; they let everybody go from Latin America and most people from EMEA and other regions, now they are cannibalizing the markets trying to survive; they are giving the distribution rights to many companies in only one territory because strategy is not important; it is just survival but I don't see it happening."
