4.5I worked at Cal Poly for almost 2 years as the lead finite element analysis engineer and enjoyed my position there a lot. My supervisor referred his students to me when they needed help and looked to me for advice when he was having troubles with the program ABAQUS.The responsibility and knowledge I obtained from this job greatly improved my technical skills and my value as a future employee.
2.6Allow people more control over what it is that they do. Give me chances to move up in the world, give people more chances to get to know each other, encourage the use of more campus services by cutting their costs, encourage people within ITS to communicate more, encourage ITS to not look down upon IT people not within ITS. Stop nickle and diming for every little thing, network ports shouldn't cost $150 per port to heat up especially when all you have to do is patch them. The list goes on and on.
4.7Fantastic opportunity. I was absolutely thrilled to grade since it furthered my knowledge of what I was grading and also helped me to understand the common mistakes people make. Also, speaking to my professor to help them understand what knowledge/concepts/topics students weren't grasping greatly helped them to teach the material at a more precise level. Overall it was a win-win-win situation, a win for me, the professors I graded for, and a win for the students whose work I graded.
