Software Engineer

"Sling was a great place to work. Not perfect, but no place is. The environment was supportive and quality of life concerns were met, including subsidized caffeine on site. My team was amazing to work with, with great support, professionalism, and comradeship."

"I worked for Sling TV on contract with Xavient/ Telus International since May 2015 to June 30th, 2020. I was happy with the Contract companies they protected me. my co-workers were really great. I was happy working there. COVID-19 was the reason they ended my contract early for about 2 months before. I was in charge of a two person Manual Test team because all the Full time QA testers were laid off earlier."

"I worked at Sling for 5 years. The relationship that Sling has with Dish is a little strained. The Chairman of Dish has too much control of what the average employee does, so there is not much empowerment to be found. I had a great boss, and the day to day was good. The vast majority of my fellow employees were great to work with."

"SlingTV was a great place to work, but that was because of the people I directly worked with."

"I've worked for Dish Technologies on the Sling TV project for a year and a half. While I love working with the people I do, and enjoy the micro-culture my team and those around us have cultivated, I am not a fan of the company in general. They spend so much time trying to preach how much they care, but then do everything they can to make sure their employees take hits in things like Insurance instead of them. I have seen many times where, when they have a chance to act on the people first mantra they spew, they do the exact opposite. I don't mind if a company does what's best for them, in fact I expect it, but be honest."

"I interned at Sling TV during the summer of 2019. I found that I was able to build solid fundamental coding techniques while I was there and I learned a lot from my team members and mentor."

"I have worked for Dish Digital since June 2014, and have found it to be a starter company with little direction and process. A lot of work is needed to get the right management which will drive the company into success. The environment is growing at a fast rate with little detail to formal process and procedure. I wish them all the success in their future."
