"Skywest doesn’t care about its employees. The turnover rate is unbelievably high for a reason. I had to call out of work to go to the ER for having stroke symptoms; I was physically incapacitated, paralyzed on my right side, blind and deaf on right side and speech impaired from it. I was fired for this call out, even though I provided a doctors notes and everything. They said it was no exception. So just a heads up, if you ever suffer from paralysis, stroke, heart attack, or anything life-threatening or physically damaging, they don’t consider that excusable and will fire you. Welcome to the SkyWest “family”. They don’t consider a difference between occurrences of laziness, negligence, irresponsibility, versus potentially life-threatening/physically damaging/debilitating situations nor do they care about their employees' wellbeing. They do not help them find options in such emergency situations, (FMLA would have been nice to know about) and impersonally fire you over the phone after putting you on non-paid leave for a week."
"SkyWest has a great interest in your personal development. They have very transparent and open communication from CEO to team managers. They value skills and skill development. As an airline they do the best they can to balance work and family or personal life."
"Look elsewhere unless you absolutely need a job. The pay is low, starting at $10 per hour. It maxes out at $14, and takes a very long time to reach, years of time that you can invest elsewhere for a far better payout. Management views everyone as replaceable, and doesn't care. Highly understaffed, most equipment is faulty, often have to fight with problems outside of your control to get the job done. The only good things are the benefits and the co-workers, there's a definite sense of team."
