"Sikorsky is an exciting place to be as an Avionics Flight Test Engineer! The ability to learn your system in a lab based setting and then apply your tests and troubleshooting efforts in the aircraft (weight on wheels and weight OFF!) is a remarkable experience for any engineer. Our CEO is a graceful and talented leader for this organization."

"I've worked for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation for five years, part of the time as a contractor and part of the time as an employee. They offer good benefits and decent compensation."

"Pros: Sikorsky is a great industry name, has an excellent history, and makes outstanding products. The different departments have some hardworking people (both hourly and salary) who are very capable, intelligent, and friendly. They have a convenient onsite cafeteria and a nurse. Cons: Working in the Quality department is absolutely horrible. It is not because I don’t like doing Quality functions; it is that the Vice President of Quality is a terrible leader. This individual has no people skills whatsoever, likes to yell at and belittle people, acts fake, always has an attitude, and will throw his subordinates under the bus any chance he gets. Everything is a last minute “emergency” with this individual, and it is very apparent he doesn't understand the critical concepts of time management and task prioritization. I have worked in several different aviation companies over the years, and this individual is by far the WORST leader I have ever encountered. Don’t believe me? The Quality department has a huge turnover rate, all because of a common denominator… the person in charge. Ask around the whole company of what people think of the leadership of the Vice President of Quality, and you will get massive negative feedback. And by the way, all of the current people in Quality are trying to jump ship! Just like the old business saying: people don’t leave bad companies, they leave bad managers. Sikorsky Global Helicopters isn’t a bad place to work, just don’t work in Quality. If the company leadership in Stratford, CT is reading this, it is time to clean house down here ASAP!"

"I've worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for 3 years. I found it to be a typical bureaucratic corporation. Upper management will say what they need to say in order to advance their careers. The employees rarely know what is really going on. It is a place where job security is high but job mobility is low."

"Sikorsky is a good place to work for several reasons. Two aspects I appreciate are the flexible work schedule, and the empowerment of each employee through independence. Supervisors are always available to assist, or provide direction, but are also very confident in the people they manage and allow the individual to make important decisions."

"Reports to the Vice President of Western Operations; manage daily manufacturing and R&D operations of 3 sites located internationally and domestic. Fully responsible for the development and management of the operations team to ensure fully compliant delivery of products and services to the company’s customers and achieve the company’s objectives in terms of on time delivery, profit, cash and inventory levels. Monitored sales forecast trends and adjusted labor accordingly."

"I've worked at Sikorsky Aircraft since February 2009. It's a very strong company to work for because they offer very good salaries and a rewarding occupation. However, the company is very dependent on government contracts and as result is very prone to lay-off and job insecurity."
