"Its a pipe fab company and doing great in its business."
"I've worked for Shaw since 2005. The company employs around 1400 people and has over 30 locations globally."

What do you like about working at The Shaw Group?
"Interesting projects, of relatively large scope."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Keep your eyes and ears open. Like most large companies, you have to be very aggressive to make yourself known and listened to, and even then it doesn't always happen."
What don't you like about working at The Shaw Group?
"Interoffice communication tends to be poor, and uni-directional. Too top heavy with managers and not enough people doing the analysis and design work. Not enough proactive action to retain good employees. Too project priented rather than employee / team oriented. The Divisions operate almost like 4 (or more) separate companies, with respect to employees. Not a lot of loyalty to employees. Treated as a means to an end."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Spend more time on completing communication loops. Value employees with something besides money (like loyalty and an attitude of being one company / team that makes real efforts to retain good employees)."
