"The Shade Store is a family-held company with an odd, insular and (for me) thwarting management culture. Employees are not included in the decision-making process. The CEO doesn't believe in an organizational hierarchy, and as a result, reviews are uninformed, decisions and policies seem capricious and wrong-headed, and bad people get promoted over more deserving ones.
