Submit a Review"Being on call and not being allowed to put the work in regarding network security stands out as the most negative. In fairness, this occurs in many companies, but I strive to inform management of the importance of high availability and network security. I really enjoy environments when people are motivated and are willing to do everything they can to do the best job they can. Leave no stones unturned to ensure everything runs as expected. No shortcuts."

"Ask lots of questions about maintenance window and what the hours are; ask about comp time for this. Ask about seating arrangements and have them show you where you will be seated"
What don't you like about working at CedarCrestone?
"Commute, no teamwork, poor management, no time off given for extra time put in (12+ hour maintenance windows acrosss Saturday night/Sunday morning), management not available during core hours"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Get involved in Unix team/infrastructure, pay attention to what works are saying"

"Make sure you are very well versed in shell scripting and also be very well versed with the ssh protocol and key remediation."
What don't you like about working at Deutsche Bank?
"Sometimes tasks assigned have to be verified by so many sources and might not even be approved at the end of it all."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Have one vocal point of contact between management and the engineers, don't have too many people that engineers have to get approval from."

"Dress nicely, be prepared, be good at your job, and you can have a long career at Kohl's."
What don't you like about working at Kohl's?
"Retail fluctuations affect the company's bottom line greatly. When the business is hurting, priorities sometimes get mixed up."

"Some of the recent changes you guys are making sound crazy. I'm not sure who has stock in HP."

"Working at Excite@Home was one of the best times in my professional career."
What do you like about working at excite?
"Everything. Direct management listened to their employees, and guided employees as to how best accomplish their goals. Teams worked well together, and rarely did they consider each group as an island unto themselves."
What don't you like about working at excite?
"The fact that it shuttered its doors so rapidly. It was a very sad day for the employees that were present at lights out."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management here were victims of the dot.com implosion. They could have accomplished so much, but in the end they failed. It was a very, very sad day when E@H closed their doors."
