What do you like about working at Pilot Media?
"There are some very nice people. The pay is, sadly, above average for this market."

"Don't expect to ever be promoted. My boss is on the first rung of the ladder after 16 years and he's considered a star contributor. You won't be able to make any neaningful improvements."
What don't you like about working at Pilot Media?
"Limited opportunities to make any real impact, zero chance for advancement, no credible long term vision for the company."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Understand that media is changing and you are not keeping pace. Your structure is inflexible and top heavy in newspapermen who aren't going to have the ideas and don't have the autonomy to save the company."

"Great. I learned a great deal about relationship selling."
What do you like about working at Eaton?
"Ethical company. Great co-workers and manager. Great job security. I am held in high regard and often consult with other reps."

"Relationship selling will be key, as you will be selling a very premium product."
What don't you like about working at Eaton?
"Aging pipeline. Features and benefits more difficult to justify. Some of the products are twice and three times as expensive as competition. Company is starting to not back up product like they once did."

"We are a newly acquired division of Eaton and they do not understand exactly what we do."

"It was a start up company that was open to listening to the opinions of employees."

"Very conservative, bosses tend to micromanage, high demand, low resources."

"Innovation, bold strategies, best practice sharing more often, leadership workshop for middle managers."

"I learned to sell value based on clients' needs, versus price being the determining factor. Further, I learned that selling is a science, and evaluation is necessary to become excellent at our objectives."

"Makes sure one has a good business knowledge of an organization's operation. Technical expertise will come later."
What don't you like about working at IBM?
"Heavy government regulations made unfair advantages for competitors. This caused an adverse effect on IBM's ability to release new solutions on a timely basis, and on its relationship with employees."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I suspect now that the litigation era is over. Management styles are more in line with today's corporations. Continue, however, focusing on IBM's excellence, and do not compare oneself to anyone but client needs."

"If you love corporate bureaucracy and building your personal brand by kissing ass then you would like it here."
What don't you like about working at Yahoo?
"It was boring, I don't care much for advertising. Required no creativity at all and everyone there was selfish."

"I didn't care for any of the executives at Yahoo!, all they said was fluff."

"It is a great job. I liked the interaction and travel with my book of business. My book included the USOC (United States Olympic Committee) and USOC Elite Athletes, and the BCBS Louisiana Partnership (11 Accounts)."

"Highmark has many great entry-level positions, and having a customer service affection is key."
What don't you like about working at Blue Cross Blue Shield?
"The direction of the unit changed, and the new leadership worked in a way I did not agree with, so I left to pursue other career opportunities."

"I would suggest using the current resources availaible and learning the positions better before making decisions."

"The culture of the company was known for their ability to promote from within. In the past they have always asked for our feedback on certain issues"

"Do your research on T-Mobile and its parent company Deuscthe Telekom. There is a tremendous amount of information about software, technology, and the wireless industry."
What don't you like about working at T-Mobile?
"T-Mobile has been the last to market with many important tools necessary for success and thus hindering the ability to gain market share."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Be competitive with the tools and resources you give the sales teams. The industry is very competitive and without the proper tools its hard to stay successful."

"Be consultative in one's approach and result oriented. Listen to the hiring manager, as they all have their own model for a sales person. I.E. New England mgr. is x-Pharma."

"A lack of local response to the needs of customers. A lack of focus local 3rd party payer initiatives."

"Don'r just demand numbers from people. Try to understand each territory challenges and aid in an effective sales strategy."

"Make sure you get everything in writting and have them sign off on it"

"They kept changing the pay structure over the last 5 years and there were no paid vacations"

"Over the last five years my manager changed 8 times. There was no consistancy."

"The commute is a little too far, and the money could be a little better also."

"We should incorporate a 4-8 hour volunteer program quarterly as a group."

"This was a new industry for me and I learned quite a bit and made many new customer relations."

"The management was vitually all ex-military and they did their best to run it this way. Too many of my customers would not allow the CEO to ever return to their place of business."

"I would tell them to get some new upper management that could support the field sales personnel."
