"The new President of IT is unethical, he created a position in our department, hired his girlfriend and used company business for pleasure, i.e., company business trips to Vegas, Tampa, and brought his girlfriend with him. When employees protested, he removed them from the department, laid them off, etc. The new management team is horrible for the Seminole casinos and someone should be looking at our department more closely as he is retaliating against the employees he felt told HR."

"The work/life balance is generally good - but that is generally the case for all government operations. Lots of food at all events."

"Make sure they are telling you the truth about the scope of the job - whether it is permanent or just a temporary thing to solve one of their fire drills. They have no compunction about misleading applicants."

What don't you like about working at Seminole Tribe of Florida?

"Climate of fear - people appear and disappear without explanation; they fire people for any or no reason; very political environment; mediocre level of professionalism. May require a lot of travel from widely spaced reservations. You may suddenly be posted to a remote reservation. Some tribal members can be very nasty to outsiders. Avoid this organization if you value your professional reputation."

"Where do I begin With some exceptions, generally a mediocre lot in terms of training, experience and talent."

"Being that its tribal land they do have their own work laws and no job is secure. The benifits are great and so is the salary and the balance for work and family life yet nothing is secure."

"I enjoyed the cultural aspect of working with the native tribe and the apportunities they offered weekly for all the tribal members of all ages."

"The fact the no job was secure for anyone that was not from the tribe. At any given time if any tribal member needed or wanted a job, anyone that was not a native tribal member could be given lay off for no particular reason."

"I would suggest that when offering a position to non-tribal members to let them know that no job position is secure, so that people are well prepared for what can happen in the future."
