Support Staff Technician

"Working for Seek Home Inc. was pretty good, except when you have the CEO."

What do you like about working at SEEK Home?

"I like the fact that MOST of the executive management appreciated the work their staff does. Entry pay is halfway decent if you are straight out of college or high school. I always loved seeing my co-workers and worked well with them and they had a good work-life balance most of the time."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You can mention 'I love to help the mentally handicapped develop life skills independently keywords: Independence, Quality, Relationships"

What don't you like about working at SEEK Home?

"There is one heavier set gray haired woman who believes she knows everything, and is an expert on your situation even though she wasn't there, she is quick to criticize and micromanage, Once she dislikes you, she is out to fire you when the bosses son is not there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"You have to believe in your staff and understand that not everyone is going to do things the way you want. The regular employees work is building a relationship and letting them get what they need their clients to do in a positive manner in their own way. When I was told to do something differently, I was quick to do it (improvement), but was criticized that 'We can't keep telling you how to do things' after 1 time correction. The worst part of it is that the clients/consumers take a back seat to the company politics which is not how it is supposed to be. The company is built and recieves good reviews only if our clients are satisfied. Compared to other group home agencies, Seek Home Inc. has too many rules and 1 bad egg at the top that makes it impossible to be friends and an effective mentor to clients according to this woman's method of leadership (If you want to call it that). Respect is earned from your employees , not demanded."
