"The people are great on a personal level, but as professionals, they fall short. The firm prides itself on being accessible to clients when needed - however, the partners fail to mention that its associates are typically those who are forced to stay late (late meaning after 7, when the office "closes") and are not compensated or offered any perks for the after-hour lifestyle - meaning, clients are getting the short-end of the stick because there is a revolving door at this firm. Partners say there is room for growth, but there aren't any mid-level associates. It takes a long time to move up salary-wise, too. Not worth it unless you are dying to work with needy clients and micro-managing partners."

"Do not work for this law firm. The partners fight often and berate the attorneys in front of the clients. Don't ever expect a raise if you work here and if you lay out funds for expenses, they take too long to reimburse you. Salaries are very low. In lieu of a bonus, the boss throws a big company holiday party so he can congratulate himself on how wonderful he is. Expect to get a lot of calls and texts on the weekend as the partners never stop expecting you to work. Most people don't last a year and some quit after a week. The firm is too cheap to hire enough office staff, so it takes a long time to get secretarial and para-legal work done. Then they blame you for not getting things typed in a timely fashion. Expect to work late hours, waiting to talk to the partners. One shuts his door, so you cannot talk to him. The other runs all over the place. The staff and other attorneys are very pleasant. Too bad they don't stay long, but that is understandable. I left here last year and am happy I did. Now I get compensated well for my work and I feel appreciated."

"Emotionally and physically exhausting"

What do you like about working at Schneider Mitola?

"The coworkers are great people and can work well with the support staff. Job offers opportunity to practice both transactional and litigation in a very specific type of practice area. You will be exposed many interesting types of cases and the opportunity to handle complex legal writing"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Interviews often are long and you might have to wait well passed your scheduled time for the interview to begin. If you have the opportunity to work at another firm got there instead. You will sacrifice your emotional and mental well being by working here"

What don't you like about working at Schneider Mitola?

"The management is very difficult to get along with. They often use inappropriate language to talk to staff and attorneys and will berate you in front of colleagues. No matter what your experience level they insist on micro-managing all work. The partners hold many closed door meetings where they criticize staff and create an atmosphere of paranoia. You will not receive much guidance on how to perform certain tasks but then receive criticism and blame if not done correctly. The salary while initially appears generous involves working late hours and many weekends."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Attempt to treat your employees with respect. A good working environment will produce better results and create a better overall office. There is no place for name calling or talking about employees in a negative way to other staff."

"If you can help it, DON'T work here"

What do you like about working at Schneider Mitola?

"Aside from the select few people who worked there that were nice, the only positive quality of working there was the location of the office. It is close to all major highways and the LIRR train station."

What don't you like about working at Schneider Mitola?

"Where do I begin...first, the atmosphere in the office is something one can describe as too political and paranoid. Expect a great deal of closed-door meetings between the partners. They expect everyone to be a superstar, yet never provide you with the ability to succeed. If anything goes wrong, it's never ever their fault. The office is very inefficiently and poorly run by both partners and the office manager. The staff, inclusive of the attorneys are all treated poorly."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Go to business school to learn how to properly manage your office and treat your staff. Hire a proper office manager who knows how to deal with the simplest office issues."
