1Hello Mr. Bedford. My name is Crystal Amar and I would like to inform you if an incident that occured this morning at your Fort Myers office.
I began training for the sales agent 1 position at 9am. When I arrived, I informed Janessa that my mother is in Boston and she is in the hospital in critical condition. I let her know that I was going to have to check in on the situation periodically through out the day.
At 10:15am, we were sent on a twenty minute break. At 10:30am, my sister called me to tell me that my mother's condition had worsened. I promptly called Janessa and told her that I was going to be a couple of minutes late coming back from break and that I was in my car in the parking lot. I let her know that I just had to call my sister back and make sure someone was going to be with my mother and that the situation was handled before I walked back in to training.
I was told not to go back in. Janessa told me not to go back to training. I told her I wasn't saying that I had to leave, I just needed a moment to take care of the situation with my mother and I would be right back in the office. Again, she told me not to go back. She said that there were people there for training and it wasn't "fair" that I come back from break late. I reminded her that I had a legitimate situation that I needed to take care of and I would be right back. She was callous and treated me just like I did not matter to the company.
Great first impression of your company and how you treat your employees.
I'm not writing you because I want my job back. I'm writing to let you know that I intend on posting this on all social media and job review sites. I will make sure that people know what they're getting into when they apply for a job at SatCom Marketing.
Apparently, your lower level management have far more power than they should and the ability to take away someone's income and livelihood over the smallest infraction, even in such a circumstance.
