What do you like about working at Sanofi?

"I was essentially fired from this company so anything that I say should be taken with a grain of salt. The things that I liked about this company were:1) They were big and could buy anything they wanted very quickly2) They had lots of people and facilities on campus.3) They would send you to France for training periodically.4) I was grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to work for big pharma."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It depends on the level. The lower level jobs are protected by the union. These might be decent jobs if you can handle being treated like a mushroom. The upper level jobs are very stressful because you never know what is going to happen. If you really want to work there just make your resume look as good as possible and be prepared for the interview. If you are hired you have to be careful what kind of projects you get assigned to. They will fill up your schedule with training and meetings if you give them a chance."

What don't you like about working at Sanofi?

"1) They are located in Canada. I'm sorry but the weather is really terrible and I could never have lived there long term. But that's just me.2) Their bureacracy is UNBELIEVABLE. 90% NINETY PERCENT!!! of my job was figuring out how to get things done within the corporate policy structure. They relentlessly beat even the tiniest speck of initiative out of their employees.3) The Canadian management is well meaning but they have almost no power and the French management (that runs the show) seems to be dedicated to preserving jobs in France at all costs. Scientist level turn-over is very high in Canada."
