What do you like about working at Paychex?
"The challenge of building referral relationships with in a given territory. Helping clients focus on the products or services they went into business for and ensuring they are compliant with both state and federal regulations."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Sales consultants who sell strictly on price will not do well with Paychex. The saying, you get what you pay for, is very true. Paychex has a superior product at a higher price. This position is only suited for those who can sell on value."
What don't you like about working at Paychex?
"Once a client is sold on our products and services, they do not want the sales consultant to assist with any service issues. I feel this hinders the exceptional customer service that I have come to expect from others.I also enjoy selling a products and services that exceed the services that other companies offer. Paychex product offerings is hands down better that that of its competitors."

"Allow sales consultants to help with client issues that arrise."

"goals are easy to meet, but payout isn't that great."

"If you don't mind having the same job for years, without promotion, this is a great company."

"constant pressure, even on the good sales reps that are making up for all the others. No public praise."

"Not micro-manage my employees. I would work hard and not delegate because I'm too busy but then stand around talking to everyone about my personal life...keeping us from getting our and her work done!"

"I dislike constantly-changing messages from leadership, being instructed to push things that customers don't want or need, sales quotas, and inconsistent schedules that have you working at 7 a.m. on Monday, 1 p.m. on Tuesday, 11 a.m on Wednesday, etc."

"I would enable set schedules, offer a four-day work week option, do away with sales quotas, deliver a more consistent message to employees, keep every department on the same page in terms of policies and enforcement, and eliminate extra add on fees that are blatant money grabs that put the front-line employees in a bad spot at the beginning of every customer interaction."
