"Excellent company for engineering."

Program Manager
in Billerica, MA

"Very interesting projects, but you have to scramble to be on project teams. Expect to move to Maclean VA, or San Diego to advance"

What do you like about working at SAIC?

"This is a good company to work for because the work is usually cutting edge."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Hiring managers will be looking for very specific skills for a current project."

What don't you like about working at SAIC?

"When a project ends, it is often difficult to connect with the next project, especially in New England, where SAIC does not have a large presence."

Program Manager
in Kent, WA

"Don't buy in to the feel good ethical company pitch."

What do you like about working at SAIC?

"Interesting projects that could make a difference if the company cared."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"They are a for-profit company and like any big corporation will do what they need to in order to get there and get top executives fat bonuses. The people on the front lines who make it happen are plu- replaceable robots as far as upper management is concerned"

What don't you like about working at SAIC?

"Hypocrisy. Management postures all the time about ethics but put extreme pressure on technical staff and their managers to pad billable hours on government projects. Meanwhile, company efficiency and profitability sucked away by layers of non-productive corporate types who mainly get in the way."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Funny how it being an employee owned company was such a big deal until the company founders started reaching retirement age. The being a public company became a big deal and all the stock sold to employees turned out to have been wildly over-priced."
