Rockwell Automation Employee

What don't you like about working at Rockwell Automation?

"After a 'good performance review' and 'being told' to 'stick around' as others were leaving in a massive layoff arrangement we had 9-11. The week following with 15 minutes notice and security at your desk, 785 people were released from the building I was working in. Families aside, medical and other aside, it is a reality that I've seen a few others go through since I was there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My manager was an excellent manager, but I'm not sure management anywhere would put their prejudicial preferences aside when working with People. I've seen too many highly skilled workers suffer for lack of personal and private matters that were none of the companies business, yet things happen. I typically judge management by it's capable skills with the 3 P's, people, paper and politeness. Typically, these managers, while being highly stressed and forced to live the 'global life' had the 3P's down to a T. From my own scale, they would rank as great to fantastic!!"

"Be carefull and cautious..."

What don't you like about working at Rockwell Automation?

"Revolving door for management. Constantly changing priorities and no clear direction. Stuck doing 10 things half-assed instead of one thing right. Working 70+ hours a week on a consistent basis. Job Description did not match duties and responsibilities...felt like I was taken advantage of. Flow of communications was really bad coming from management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to your people...you talk the talk but don't walk the walk in regards to your values."

Asset Management Professional

"Accurate. Current AMPS would still agree."

What do you like about working at Rockwell Automation?

"Fellow Asset Management Professionals, well some of them anyway."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't be an on-site Asset Management Professional unless you enjoy zero support and dealing with a bunch of people that are scared to make decision within a reasonable amount of time (if at all)."

What don't you like about working at Rockwell Automation?

"Their sales team were a bunch of liars. Promised the customers the world but delivered next to nothing. They don't really repair anything except AB and Reliance products (their own equipment). Rarely honored warranties and they got caught marking 3rd party repair prices in some cases as much as 300% of their competition. Claimed it was for their value added services. I increased my revenue by the standard 10-15% yr over yr but had my goal increased by 30+% and was fired for not meeting this unrealistic goal."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Train your DSM/CSM or whatever stupid acronym they're using now to actually listen to the customer. If you're going to provide a repair service have your salesman to at least act like they care about this business."
