"They are frequently hiring from the outside always looking for someone better. There is no chance of advancement. They would prefer to hire people with lots of experience and tell them they will train them, and they have a lot of people moving up in the company, but it is all lies. This company has no clue how to take care of the people doing all the work. DON'T BOTHER TRYING TO WORK FOR Rock-Tenn."

If you are the type that like doing all those special favors for the boss this might be okay but be prepared to put out at all times otherwise there's no chance for advancement. "Stable company. They offer solid benefits and the majority of the people that I work with are awesome. Nearly anyone is available to ask a question. Sometimes, the company is a little slow to adapt newer technologies, but that's due to making sure that costs are down for the consumer."

"RockTenn is a corrugated container company who in the past had many beneficial perks to their employment. As the years went on they started taking away bonuses, and all incentive. turned the company into a hard place to work since it's union and it doesn't matter how hard you work as long as you show up on time and don't get hurt or ruin too much product. There is a very low glass ceiling on this job as well. Once you've made it to operator, you're relying on the stagnant Union for pay raises."

"If the objective is to simply obtain employment, your place of education is important as are personal contacts. Being perceived as a team player is important. Appearance is more important than substance."

"Micro-management, lack of trust, pettiness, lack of integrity, lack of recognition, lack of direction"

"Be honest, have integrity, trust your people, realize that the employees are the most important asset, be consistent"

"This company pays well and the people you wrok with are great to work around."

"When interviewing, have resume in hand, dress nice, and speak clear."

"This company works a eight hour rotation shift, which you stay on twelve hours alot due to other people being off and don't have enough off time."

"I think the management group does a good job for the most part."

"Certain amount of responsibility and accountabilty needs to be earned by my position."

"Many of the employees were stuck in their old ways and didn't want to listen to the safety professional."

"I would have liked for the upper management to take safety more seriously. Safety culture and compliance start with upper management."

"they believe and enforce safety first. they ensure each employee is aware of safety procedures, and help them to always work safely."

"there seemed to be a slight disconnect in their training techniques. communication was not precise."

"they seem to do a good job, their concern about the employees is outstanding, above most other companies."
