"In 2008 I started working for Rickmers-Linie a company based in Hamburg, Germany specializing in its premier Liner service which they coined as the "Pearl String Service". With a fleet of 9 high speed, multipurpose, heavy lift vessels we were able to service all of our base ports(pearls) around the globe every two weeks. This innovative service spearheaded by the company's private owner was a leader in the industry for many years. Even when the market started to decline, due to strong customer relationships and reliable service Rickmers was able to survive much longer than most competitors. Eventually the company fell victim of the market, was bought and re-named Rickmers-Line until finally consolidating with several other shipping companies to become what it is now Zeamarine. Zeamarine still provides the same liner service that Rickmers became known for as well as offers up a massive fleet of different sized multipurpose vessels for a tramp service that will reach all corners of the globe."
