What do you like about working at University of Louisville?
"I was Research Director and free to follow any path I chose in the area of pathogenic bacteriology (germs, as it were). I devoted most of my time to discovery. I got to publish my work, connect with other like-minded scientists, and attend major conferences twice a year. I had many good kids come through my lab; some geniuses. I had fun with the crew we had in our lab."
What don't you like about working at University of Louisville?
"It was a top-notch hospital, but administration did not know how to deal with research. I had to fight hard for my stake in the commercialization of my inventions. Their evolution to an institution that supports technology transfer was slow in coming. Everyone is pleasant now that the R&D is moving forward to clinical trials."
What do you like about working at Vision Africa Radio?
"It's part of people's everyday life, informative, devoted to human well-being, relevant to people's needs."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Ask as many questions as possible about the nature of the project that you are going to be involved in, and try to educated your self as much as possible about the nature, geography, population, and current crises in Africa."
What don't you like about working at Vision Africa Radio?
"I can't think of anything that I didn't like. The project was wonderful and the team was very devoted and self-motivated."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Invest more money in sending local experts (U.S team) to visit the African countries that are benefitting from the organization's projects."
