This company is absolutely horrendous to work for. You are on call 24 hours a day five to seven days a week, depending on how things are that week. In some locations you can get 50 plus hours, which sounds great until it takes you seven days and over a hundred hours availability. If you're lucky you might work at a site where they are so desperate to hire new people that you'll be able to get away with nearly any infraction. If you're unlucky, you'll be available for your hundred hours and only work for twenty to thirty hours. This week, after being available for over 48 hours, I only have 13 hours. They claim they want to promote from within, but that only results in incompetent managers and supervisors. If you work for Renzenberger expect to be abused all around, from the dispatchers who won't answer their phones or have extremely thick accents that are impossible to understand, managers who will ignore you unless they want something or call to yell at you for whatever reason, to the railroad workers who smell bad, are rude, or completely ignore your existence.
Stop abusing employees, stop falsifying DOT records, start paying what you promised new hires, start taking better care of vehicles that--in their present condition--can kill drivers and railroad workers. Stop lying and most of all, stop staying Safety First when every corner of the company is clearly not interested in safety.
if they want keep the safety standard that they want, they the have to pay more
