"If this is the place you want to work, great! Just be sure to read the articles on NY Daily News (Feb 2014). Realize that by joining this organization, that it's NOT a happy place. Family-inflexibility (work 11-7), selfishness (where the top managers give themselves hefty pay raises each year and limit exempt and non-exempt staff to less than 3% a year; unionized workers are a different story), no budget to buy new books (but money to buy new tech) and demoralized workers. A sad place to work."

"The abiliy to learn new thingss and the easy access to information."

"They have very unfair hiring practices, especially if you are a minority. You can be hired for low level position but not senior level."

What don't you like about working at Queens Borough Public Library?

"Everything is micromanaged by the CEO. He does not respect other opinions or ideas. He is egocentric and a bully."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Ensure the varius departments worked together instead of having the every man for himself, do what you can to blame the next person, cut throut environment that is promoted."
