"Get into this company under any job title. There are amazing career advancement opportunities once you're in."

"Hardly anyone available to help you. There was no formal training for this position. My co-workers were great. They helped me get oriented and learn the ropes."

"ACT-1 was very supportive during my contract work period at Amgen. If I had an admin need it was satisfied."
What don't you like about working at Amgen?
"I am not able to speak negatively about ACT-1 except that when ACT-1 was being phased out of AMGEN, as was I and the other AMGEN contractors. I would have appreciated ACT-1 offering those loyal employees placement opportunities with ACT-1 sphere of influence."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I have no suggestions. On-site management was very good; but headquarters was several thousand miles away in California so I am not sure what the philosophy of ACT-1 main company was."

"After working for them for so many years, I would have rather been working for a small company, more personal. GE was such a large company with so many employees I felt like just a number."

"Stay in tune with your employees and be sensitive to there feelings and thoughts."

"I was empowered to do my job and not micro managed."

"I wouldn't work for Alcoa ever again, I would not recommend it at all."
What don't you like about working at Alcoa?
"Alcoa had a lot of the good ole' boy system going on."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"When you tell people in interviews that you will reimburse them for college, don't renege when it comes time to actually do it. I quit a job that was paying for my school to go to Alcoa, then Alcoa refused to reimburse me, then they laid me off. This pretty much ruined my life. Thanks Alcoa."
