"I like the hands-on work and the ability to create my own schedule. The clean room facilities here are top notch. I have all the resources I need to carry out experiments. Post doc work still requires a lot of hours for, frankly, not enough pay."
"A low pressure environment is wonderful towards a thriving research project which might be difficult to find in a company setting. At the same time, slow transit time from bench to bedside is a setback of being in an academic setup. The best of both worlds would be an academic institution with a strong technology transfer division/department which is lacking here at MUSC."
