"There is inconsistency in career expansion. Further, preferential treatment in certain investigations are troublesome."

"Apply more consistency to the promotional and disciplinary areas within the organization."

"I like the principals of the Sheriff. I also like the idea that I have a job."

"One piece of advice I would give someone interviewing at Polk County Sheriff's Office is have a plan and skills before starting a career."

"It has been difficult for me to grow. I have been trying to figure out what to do without leaving, yet I'm not opposed to leaving this job. I was able to obtain a degree, but I have not found the things that make me feel positive about going to work."

"I would find out what is really going on in every department by doing things like showing up unannounced, observing very busy periods, and changing the way feedback is given and taken."

"Its not bad for a younger person. The pay and benefits are great however."

"It can be very dangerous dealing with inmates. This job could use more structure in its rules and safety as far as keeping officers private lives more private."

"The world is your oyster... it is acceptable to take an entry level position considering you most likely will not be there for long."

"The building and fixtures needed updating and it was quite difficult to work when the desk legs were unstable."
