"I like working at the VA because most of my day is low stress. The ability to work anywhere in the United States at VA Hospitals and Air Force Bases."

"Stress your ability to: conform with management's views and philosophies, your desire to help first and arrest when absolutely necessary."
What don't you like about working at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs?
"The salary could be better, promotions are slow and the selections for promotions are not standardized. The agency is undermanned and requires overtime personnel if one person calls in sick or takes vacation."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Hire the required amount of people. Be honest and objective with promotions, Trust your personnel to do the right thing. Recognize above average work performance."

"I loved the fast paced, exciting, and challenging. The people I worked with were fantastic."

"Be punctual, well spoken, physically fit, clean shaven, and humble."

"The LAPD needs to compensate it's patrol officers better and provide overtime pay instead of comp time."

"Pay cash overtime instead of comp time to raise moral."

"the people, my friends, and the outdoors, constantly changing scenery"

"If your hiring in, stay for about 2 years and run for the suburbs"

"Pay cuts, pension cuts, adding more hours, lack of any respect from administration"

"Don't plan on being promoted unless you are willing to enter a huge butt-kissing contest."

"Management was not so great about standing up for their people. There were double standards and the favoritism was a morale killer"

"I would be more concerned about running the police department and less about fitting in at the good old boys club."
