"I love that I get to become close with the members of Sams Club with their personal lives. I do more than just print photos, I become a part of the members lives. Most of the time their is joy in printing pictures for family events and memories. Other times there is a sadness because they have lost someone. My job is not only to be a Photo Lab Technician but also someone they can confide in. After all some of the pictures they print are dear to their heart and I am the one making them."

"Dead end, low-pay job. Last resort at best. $8.53/hr after 5 YEARS."

What do you like about working at Target?

"The people Target hires are usually good people who just want to do their jobs. HR and some of our ETLs (store managers) are good people."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are applying for anything less than management, getting a job there is a cakewalk. if you have the interview, you pretty much have the job. Just make sure to smile and seem energetic. If going for management, be sure to sound like you are really interested in the manager employing you. They don't care about expertise, they wan't someone who will do what corporate says."

What don't you like about working at Target?

"Little to no chance for progressing in the company. Expect to work for near-minimum wage for 5+ years before being able to convince management to move you anywhere. Corporate keeps its fingers in all of your business. You are expected to function like a robot. You don't have any control over your work situation, and are expected to do exactly what the computer tells you to do. They give you hours only if they feel like it, and they rarely feel like it. You need 30 hours a week to pay the bills. Well, you should probably already have a second job in mind. The only issue is, if your availability isn't 100% open, the computers will not give you many hours. Yes, even HR has to do what the computer says."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Fire the CEO, change your focus from competing with Walmart to trying to be better than Walmart, to both your employees and customers. There is so little respect for the people behind the cashier table, that it's no wonder morale in Target stores is dropping like a rock. Don't cut hours just because you feel like it. The stores still more than meet your financial needs, so why are you punishing them? Maybe you should spend a month working as a cashier in a store. Work your rear end off for 40 hours a week just to walk away with a $500 paycheck. You may work hard in management, but you have no idea what those cashiers have to deal with. I got away from cashiering quickly, but I still see what they go through, and I feel bad for them. If only you did too."
