"It is an innovative environment, don't be afraid to express yourself or think outside the box."

"The company is only geting back on it's feet after a few bad yeas since circa 2000. There are quite a lot of old legacy systems. Direct manager will push forward in his decision if he feels strongly about it."

"Probably invest in more training. Take onboard the IT departments recomendations for different systems. You get what you pay for."

"Owner gave control to inexperienced sons and a crazy women who care nothing for employees, their only concern is looking important and having power. They treat people with total disrespect and hide behind religious morals that they do not honor or follow."

"Hire qualified caring mangers and let them make changes instead of tying their hands in fear of losing their job. Get ride of the big M and Minnie M."

"There is no direction, no future, no value is placed on the employee. The salaries are below the scale to choose here on this site except for the top handful and those in charge that are making more per month than the average employee does in a half year. No loyalty to employees."

"The owners (nice folks) need to fire the CEO/President there is no leadership just dictatorship."

What do you like about working at Schwan's?
"They have the right idea about how to do things. But what they tell you is fictional. Your pay is both bonus and commission. When you log onto the computer you earn $50 for the day. When you complete 80% of your stops on time, then you earn another $50. The problem is that when you are allowed only 4 minutes to service a customer and need to process a link card, it takes an additional 4 to 4 1/2 minutes to process the call. If you lose your personal cell phone signal while processing the link card you must start all over again. You have have to try to process the same link card 2, 3, 4 times or more depending on the cell phone signal from the cell phone that you own. That's right. You have to also supply your own cell phone. The company also saves money this way. If you do not make 80% of your stops on time you lose $50 for the day. You also earn 1% on commissions up to $800 and then the commission goes up. But if you earn $50 for logging onto the computer, you lose $50 in bonus because the daily schedule does not all enough time to make the required stops or someone has set up false address in the g.p.s. that do not exist or if the set the g.p.s. for a location that is perhaps 1/2 to 1 mile away from the correct address location then you will not make 80% of your stops because you have no idea where they are. But you do earn 1% on sales up to $800. That is great!!! You sell $800 worth of product and you earn 8 cents, before taxes.So by the end of the day you have actually grossed $50 for logging onto the computer, You may have sold $600 worth of product and earned 6 cents (gross pay). This is wonderful. But do not forget to deduct the cost of the cell phone that you have to purchase to use on your job with Schwan's."

"PLEASE learn how to read interviewers. This will not only help you learn the truth yourself about Schwan's, but help when interviewing with other companies."
What don't you like about working at Schwan's?
"This is covered in the statement above. I am so upset with Schwan's that I cannot stand it. Everyone needs to check the internet for sites that employees and customers have posted. YOU WILL BE SHOCKED AT WHAT YOU LEARN."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management is aware of the problems and has demonstrated that they do not care. There is nothing that anyone can suggest to management or anyone else if they do not care what they are told. After all they are management and who cares what an employee says or thinks, unless it is publicly made comments like this that tell what is going on at Schwan's."

"I like the money at Menards, and some of the people, and that is about it."

"Unless you like working in a sweat shop, don't go there."

"The hours are long, and the management doesn't care about you, just as long as you do their work."

"I would get some air conditioning into all the buildings."

"It started out great with high potential. Most employees want to succeed, see company grow and do well."

"Focus on taking direction and reliability as an employee but DO NOT suggest improvements. It's their way or the highway, so to speak. And watch out for February. That's been layoff month for past 4 years."

"Company has outsourced most of it's work and depleted (laid off) local staff which was always their biggest asset yet Senior Management has not changed in 10 years."

"Executive Management is a tight inner circle with very little contact with employees. Everyone used to know President & VPs but newer staff wouldn't recognize them if they passed them every day."

"Everything. Ownership is clueless on how to treat other people. Favoritism , abusive, degrading."

"Look at your own core values not do as I say not as I do. Emotionally abusive,"

"No one likes working at VSI because of the way they treat people. Morale is terrible and the incompetent president is the problem"

"Don't stop looking for a job even if you accept one at VSI. They will lie to you about your wages, raises, benefits, and any other thing they think will get you to work here because they know that after a year or two without a raise you will then leave and they can hire another person for a low starting wage with thepromise of raises that never happen . Turnover at VSI is very high and morale very low."

"The business has no direction, no plan, is unorganized, constantly double talks and basically lies to employees about everything"

"Fire the president he doesn't do anything, is just there because he is owners friend. The sales manager is really the person that is keeping the company alive."
