"I worked at Permastripe of Florida (a family owned and operated company) as the office manager from 2010-2013. From day one the entire staff was very patient and helpful and friendly. Hands down the best place to work. I was given endless opportunities to learn on a daily basis. Coming from a background in signal and roadway construction it was great to learn about another aspect of the industry. I was also able to connect with a variety of customers and other contractors and develop friendly professional relationships. Although there is no room for traditional advancement, as the office manager I was invited to become a more active participant in all aspects of the company. The office setting is not stressful but can be fast paced. I researched ways to save the company money and my suggestions were well received. The pay rate was well above any of the similar positions offered at that time and was a very fair wage for my expected workload. Permastripe was extremely flexible and understanding when I needed to attend to personal matters. Although no medical insurance was available directly with the company at that time, it was available through their payroll company at an affordable rate. Additional benefits were offered such as direct deposit, casual work attire, a company cell phone, flexible scheduling as needed, paid vacation time and an end of the year bonus for every employee. I was able to perform my job without being "micro managed" and my suggestions and ideas for more efficient practices were discussed and implemented. When other staff members were out of the office they were still easily reachable by phone to answer any questions or provide assistance when needed. I was very saddened when I resigned, as I had become a real part of the Permastripe family."
