"I have been working for them for 9 years in the last 7 months i was verbally bullied by a co worker .They sacked him as he was a temp and now want me to stand a disaplinary hearing for loosing it with him i refused so now ive finished working their .Not nice people to work for ovoid like the plague also their nachines havnt got very good build quality very poor."

"It is an "Old Boys Club", where opportunity is more based on who you know than the work you do. Management seems to have no long term vision."

"I liked working for PerkinElmer. However, I felt that the product development, marketing and support was lacking at best. That made it difficult to succeed at PerkinElmer. The company policy of growing the revenue by acquisitions and mergers means that everyone is at risk for lay-off every quarter. That is a brutal work environment. The management should not be allowed to wreak havoc in the lives of so many employees."

"Stay away from this company. Thermo or Agilent have much better work environment. The pay is poor, the upper management team are a bunch of megalomaniacs. My budget for training on others manufactures equipment was $0 (stay away from OneSource program) 95% of my engineers are bumbling idiots. Basic parts are never in stock and must be imported from PE's foreign facilities."

"not sure overall it's a great company to work for."

What don't you like about working at PerkinElmer?

"not performance driven system at least for the software R&D side of it."

"Try to make it performance based environment, although I know they tried but were not successful"

"Challenging, very busy, wear many different hats throughout a work week."

"Be prepared to be pulled in many different directions and also be willing to ignore distractions."

"I wish I had more flexibility of where I choose to do my work."

"I would suggest that we hire another engineer or two as we have more work than our team can handle."

"Great products designed and built by great people. Can feel like making a difference."

"At times management decisions are not easily understood. Not always thinking about long term."

"Worry less about the quarterly stock price and more about the longer term goals."

"Was able to make your own schedule an take care of the customers in the region."

"Need to be mature because in most cases you will be making decisions on your own."

"Felt alone most of the time not much contact with other coworkers."

"More team building within the region and provide growth within the company."

"The department is small. There is going to be a lot a sustaining and maintenance work for several years."

"The embedded software team does not work as a team. Each worker is a loner. Creating a team is hard, but pays off in the end."
