"Whiting-Turner was the better company to work for. Perini's $14B project ending created internal havoc"

What do you like about working at Perini Building Co.?

"The Vdara Tower was a tremendous project with tremendous experience. From the Perini's flag football team to co-workers extreme work ethic in the office, they were a great bunch to work with. My own bar of professional standards was raised."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would tell them to at least steer clear of Perini's Las Vegas office merely due to job security. I would definitely recommend Whiting-Turner. They were a great company to work for."

What don't you like about working at Perini Building Co.?

"PerinI allegedly had a predetermined number of management personnel they were going to layoff CityCenter project wide. Their medical coverage was more expensive. I had declined Perini's first offer of $65K per year as Whiting-Turner was a great employer and had just given me a raise to $72K per year. Upon Perini's 2nd attempt, they promised a $72K salary, $1000 signing bonus and $10K in year in bonuses. The 65k contract was given to me at orientation and unintentionally signed. PerinI would not adjust the salary to what was offered. It wasn't the end of the world for me as I continued to work even longer hours, between 12 and 18 hour days, even though none of the signing or year end bonuses came either. I did manage to last much longer than other co-workers even though they had worked their substantially longer than I."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Every supervisor, and supervisor's supervisor, I had was laid off or accepted work elsewhere before I was laid off. All of the management that I was familiar with did a great job despite the job ending circumstances."
