"Senior Professionals Beware"

What do you like about working at Pall Corp.?

"Nice facility, easy commute , great people, Sunny Florida"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you decide to except a job here do not live in Pasco County. The housing market is very soft and Pall is the only gig in this town. Move to North Pinellas just in case you find yourself out of a job. You'll be within easier access to other aerospace firms and you won't be looking at a 90 minute commute.Interviewing is a breeze here, really no need to worry unless you're going into the sales dept or contracts. Those guys are more then a little full of themselves."

What don't you like about working at Pall Corp.?

"As a manager it was difficult to get raises for my staff, even back in the good economic times. Sr. Managers and HR can take months to approve the required paper work. Pall has a terrible track record of laying of senior staff and replacing them with seriously inexperienced people. If your over 40 years of age don't even think about interviewing here. Age discrimination is very much arrive and well at Pall and this probably has to do with the fact that they are self insured. People are burnt out from high work loads. Many employees stress level run very high. I've seen dozen of senior employees laid-off with 20 years of service with less then $20K in severance. That includes their pension and vacation pay!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Create a work environment that promotes creative thinking. Get rid of the time clocks for salaried professionals.Deliver on your promises...."

"Start here, but move on quickly!"

What do you like about working at Pall Corp.?

"Great people and good benefits. Christmas bonus are great after 5 years of service."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Pall like college interns. If you're an experienced professional look elsewhere unless you enjoy being micro-managed and laid-off in your senior years. Computer skills are important however keep in mind that the folks interviewing you have limited computer skills, keep it simple but let them now you're up to speed."

What don't you like about working at Pall Corp.?

"Pall micro manages there people to the 10th degree. Very limited opportunity for growth. Sr Management were all schooled in the mid 70's and there is zero creative thinking. Huge staff turn-over which leads to constant training of new employees. In my 25 years of employment here I only knew 5 people that made it to retirement. Most will be laid-off prior. I was told this back in the mid 80's by my mentor at Pall and he was dead right. Finally I must say I know the Sr. HR manager extremely well. This person also had 20+ years of service was laid-off and has told me all the games they use to play with people careers. Pall is a great place to start if you're a young college intern but I strongly suggest you move on after 3 years."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Retire or go back to school you guys are out of gas and fresh ideas. Reading a best seller for example, Who moved my Cheese doesn't count as advanced mgr training. I use to quietly laugh to myself when walking into any mgr office at Pall. All mgrs had this book standing on end in clear view of their office door."
