"I took this job after my previous one went through a site closure, and I was recruited to work at Olympus. Salary was sufficient for the role and work required. It has been challenging to pursue further education/training within the organization though. The employee is required to be more proactive and identify training needed and then go through quoting and purchase approval process to be considered for potential training. Company culture is somewhat tenured and certain employees regularly refuse to perform their job.Moving laterally within the company is accessible, which is a big plus."
"Management is mediocre. Very difficult for growth. Management not focused on quality 1st and more so on WIP and turn around time. Training is very rare nowadays. Not competitive in pay."
"Constant turn over in engineering. Leadership cant figure out company's direction. Culture is "if its not broke, don't fix it"."
"I have worked for Olympus for over 11 years. I believe that the company has declined in the wake of the accounting scandal, if that was not bad enough. They have not learned from previous mistakes. My manager has quit, his manager has quit. Several of my counterparts have quit or are leaving as soon as they find a new opportunity. I really wish things were different because I love the job and the people I work with. It is a true shame to see this downslide."
"The overall experience is pretty good."
