What do you like about working at Office Depot?

"Not much... we did have a good Nascar driver. At least I got to leave on my own terms."

What don't you like about working at Office Depot?

"No empathy for the employees or workers. It wasn't my idea of a career. Working on large public projects that would net us zero commission."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop letting Staples kick your butt and fix the delivery issues. This is the only thing that my customer complained about."

"Company has lots of potential; however, the leadership is inconsistent with the company's direction."

"Name recognition sometimes opens doors."

"Huge company. Very report intensive. Employees often feel like an employee number and not real people."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen more closely to ideas from sales. We are the 'feet on the street' and we know what the market wants and needs."

"A great place to work, if you're not one of the bunch you will have difficulty moving up in the warehouse."

What do you like about working at Office Depot?

"They were a very employee-orientated company and spent time on employees. They had a cascade program where they made the employees, as well as management feel like they were responsible for the entire process of training and developing of all new hires. This gave all a sense of pride and importance."

What don't you like about working at Office Depot?

"Worked for years and had difficulty moving up. There was a tight knit group of people that associated with each other away from work and if you went with them and partied you became part of the group. I did not go with them and therefore was passed up several times for positions in management that I was more than qualified to hold."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Look beyond friends and family to see what you have as far as employees and their abilities and skills. Not everyone likes to go out and drink and party. When laying off, let go of the last in or lowest performing people first."
