"There seems to be little desire to improve things. Suggestions are ignored if not rejected. Legacy mess of a code base where almost all components, file, method, and variable names are 2, 3, or 4 letter acronyms. Boring work environment in which there is no collaboration because everyone works on their own thing all day -- very compartmentalized. No or rare feedback from supervisor, possibly because he has so many other responsibilities and direct reports. Many meetings end up being big arguments and a waste of time, and many run well past closing time and you feel trapped. You get invited to meetings you don't need to be in and not invited to meetings you do need to be in. Decent salary and benefits. Good workstations. Rapidly growing company. The work is challenging enough and the new stuff is utilizing newer technologies and they're trying to engineer it more cleanly. Decent work life balance, depending on supervisor. There is a bit of allowance to work from home at times, maybe depending on the person and role."
