"An Associate FR is actually an employee of the Rep they work for NOT of Northwestern Mutual. You are paid by the Rep you work under and benefits are provided buy the Rep as well."

"There just wasn't any advancement opportunities."

"It is a crapshoot. It all depends on what rep you work for."

"If you work for a rep expect substandard pay. Most assistants make less than $35,000 a year. Pay is often late. No health benefits. No potential for advancement. No Human Resources department for rep staff. Nowhere to turn when things go bad."

"Make rep staff employees of NML. Other companies do it, why can't you Look at Edward Jones BOA's."
